Best Buttercream Frosting
After failing to find the perfect recipe for buttercream glaze, I found one that worked for me and then added my own two cents.
This is the Best Buttercream Frosting coating! It is rich and creamy and is very easy to whip. It whistles wonderfully and is the perfect way to finish all your cakes and tarts!
- 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks),, softened
- 4.5 cups powdered sugar
- 1 Tablespoon pure vanilla extract
- 4-5 Tablespoons heavy cream or whole milk
Beat the soft butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until soft and creamy. Continue beating the butter at medium speed while gradually adding the powdered sugar. Stop the mixer and scrape the edges of the bowl with a spatula as needed to completely incorporate all the sugar.
When the butter and sugar come together, add the vanilla. Whip 1 tablespoon of heavy cream or milk at a time until the desired consistency is achieved. This icing is perfect for sprinkling or simply spreading on cakes and tarts!
